ODS 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
The oceans, due to their composition and characteristics, guarantee climatic stability and allow the Earth to be a habitable planet.
In addition, half the world's population provides food and other products. However, large bodies of water, seas and oceans, are under intense pressure. The oceans receive large amounts of pollutants, especially from the mainland (chemicals, especially from agriculture, and all kinds of plastics, among others), and suffer from overexploitation of fishery resources.
SDG 14 addresses the serious problems affecting the seas and oceans. It is about protecting and sustainably managing marine and coastal ecosystems, with a view to conserving at least 10% of all these areas. On the other hand, it must be possible to preserve fisheries by promoting fishing systems that promote the regenerative capacity of ecosystems.
14.1 For the 2025, prevent and reduce of significant way the marine pollution of every type, in particular the pollution produced by activities realised on shore adamant, included the ones detritus marine and the pollution for nutrients
14.2 For the 2020, manage and protect of sustainable way of the marine and coastal ecosystems with a view to eschew important harmful effects, even by means of the empowerment of his resilience, and adopt sizes of restoration so as to reinstate the health and the productivity of the oceans.
14.3 Reduce at a minimum the effects of the acidification of the oceans and face, including the intensification of the scientific cooperation at all the levels.
14.4 For the 2020, reglamentar effectively the exploitation pesquera and pose end at the overfishing, the illegal fishing, the no declared fishing and no reglamentada and the practices of destructive fishing, and apply plans of management with scientific bedrock for such to reinstate the populaces of fishes at the most brief term possible, at least at levels that can produce the maximum sustainable performance of chord with his biological characteristics.
14.5 For the 2020, conserve at least the 10% of the coastal and marine zones, in compliance with the national laws and the international law and on the base of the #good scientific information available.
14.6 For the 2020, prohibit some forms of subsidies at the fishing that contribute at the capacity of overfishing and at the overexploitation pesquera, delete the subsidies that contribute at the illegal fishing, no declared and no reglamentada and abstain to introduce #new subsidies of this type, recognising that the negotiation on the subsidies at the fishing at the frame of the World Organisation of the Trade has to include a special tract and differentiated, appropriate and effective for the developing countries and the less countries advanced.
14.7 For the 2030, augment the economic benefits that the #small insular States developing and the less countries advanced get of the sustainable use of the marine resources, in particular by means of the sustainable management of the fishing, the aquaculture and the tourism.
#14.a Augment the scientific kens, develop the capacity of enquiry and transfer the marine tech, taking into account the criteria and guidelines for the transfer of marine tech of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, so as to improve the health of the oceans and improve the contribution of the marine biodiversity at the development of the developing countries, in particular the #small insular States developing and the less countries advanced.
#14.b Facilitate the fit of the fishermen artesanals at #small scale at the marine resources and at the markets.
#14.c Improve the conservation and the sustainable use of the oceans and his resources applying the international law reflected at the Convention of the #United Nations on Mar's Law, that provides the juridical frame for the conservation and the sustainable utilisation of the oceans and his resources, how recalls at the paragraph 158 of the document «The future that blast».
