ODS 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Terrestrial ecosystems ensure the functioning of the planet and the balance of all natural cycles, and provide services that benefit all living things (clean air, water retention, food supply, etc.).

SDG 15 deals with the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of these and freshwater ecosystems, with special reference to the concern for degraded soils, forests and mountain ecosystems.
